Rhythm, as a fundamental element of music, exerts a profound influence on the human being, and its characteristics can be systematically analyzed through mathematical relationships and numerical principles. This study aims to identify the psychological states and human impacts associated with specific musical time signatures and tempos; this is achieved by applying the ancient theory of the four human temperaments (the four humors) and integrating it with innovative numerical rules. Computational results indicate that the temperaments associated with the time signatures 6/4, 6/8, 5/8, 11/8, 15/8, 24/16, and 33/8 are "hot and dry"; those for 2/4, 8/8, and 18/16 are "hot and moist"; those for 3/4, 7/8, 12/4, 12/8, and 21/8 are "cold and moist"; and those for 4/4, 4/8, 9/4, 9/8, and 16/8 are "cold and dry." Furthermore, the model for identifying tempo-based temperament reveals how the psychological states associated with a specific rhythm vary according to the performance speed (metronome setting). Additionally, the computational methods presented for simple, compound, and irregular time signatures mutually validate one another; this cross-validation confirms the reliability of the identified rhythmic temperaments.
